Course

Course Report:

Our Green-keeping team have been very busy over the past few weeks as although the recent wet weather hasn’t been ideal for us golfers, it has given the course a break from the very dry Summer we have just had.  The team have completed the re-seeding program on 10 of our fairways and with the wet conditions of late the seed is flourishing with new shoots are already emerging.

Many of the GUR areas on the course are now being re-turfed and again the current weather conditions mean they stand the best chance of establishing quickly, again enhancing the playing conditions for the coming months.

A number of upcoming projects for the course were discussed at the Club AGM on Thursday 18th October and I will keep you updated on these in due course.

Driving Range:

The TopTracer installation was completed on Friday 4th October and it has transformed the Driving Range experience. It is great to see so many different people now using the range from experienced golfers to those just trying for the first time, with a group of friends on a Friday night and everyone of them having a fun. Our new Range Menu is also available so you can order a great selection of food and drink from your range bay.

If you haven’t yet had a go and would like to try or have questions about how the system works, please contact me.

Upcoming Golf events:

Spaces are still available for the Golf Club End of Season Celebration on the 26th October.  You can sign up at Reception and it is sure to be a great night with great food, great company and a live band to complete the night.

Our Captains Drive In will be held on Saturday 2nd November.  Our upcoming Captains will start the proceedings by teeing off with a Hickory shafted club to really test their skills! Followed by a shotgun start Texas Scramble. Entry is only £5 and includes a meal after play.  Please sign up in the Sports Bar.

Spaces are now available for Night Golf on Friday 15th November.  It is a great fun night and entry includes a warmup on the TopTracer driving range, followed by a 5-hole Night Golf challenge on the course, guided by glow sticks and glowing golf balls followed by a meal after play with a few drinks.  To enter your team simply call Reception on 01993 893000 or email me.
